• GPS Location: To verify the location of the ballot submission.
• Metadata: Includes information about the device and the environment where the image was captured.
• Device Data: Information about the device used to access vvote.org.
• Ballot Image: We encourage you to take a photograph of your completed ballot, but you will only be able to upload this image if we are engaged by an auditing company or a candidate challenging the election.
• Driver's License Number: For verification purposes.

2. Use of Collected Data

Your data is collected for the following purposes:

• Verification: To ensure the integrity of the voting process.
• Official Court Cases: We may release your data for official court cases challenging an election.
• Official Audits: We may use your data for official audit purposes to ensure transparency.

3. Data Retention

We will retain your data until no further challenges are being made concerning the election for which the images were collected. Once the challenge period is over, or if no more challenges are made, we will securely delete your data.

4. Liability

By using vvote.org, you acknowledge that any risks or liabilities associated with the use of this technology, including legal or regulatory challenges, are assumed by you, the user, or the entity engaging with the system. vvote.org is not responsible for any legal, financial, or operational consequences arising from the use of the technology.

5. Fees

Entities or individuals using vvote.org services, especially during an election audit or challenge, will incur fees to cover personnel costs and other operational expenses. The specifics of these fees will be provided based on the scope and requirements of the engagement.

6. Donations

All donations made to vvote.org will be used solely for operational purposes, including covering professional fees and related expenses. We are committed to ensuring that your contributions support the effective operation and goals of vvote.org.

7. Digital Voting

We do not support or advocate for digital voting. The vvote.org process is intended to be used only until we return to in-person voting with paper ballots that are hand-counted.

8. Data Security

We are committed to protecting your data and implementing appropriate security measures to safeguard it. However, no data transmission over the internet or electronic storage system is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
